Fazeley Studios Wedding Fair

We celebrated a little milestone in the life of Bloom Fleuriste at the weekend – our very first wedding fair. We selected Fazeley Studios in Birmingham as the first place to showcase our floral designs and styling as it was the venue’s first fair too, which felt quite fitting.

We had no idea what to expect and were completely blown away by the positive reaction from brides, grooms and fellow exhibitors. Thank you to all who came and have since followed up with enquiries – we look forward to making your big day beautiful!

A special thank you goes out to my incredibly talented friend Jennie, who baked some delicious natural treats for our stand. Her new wholefoods baking business, The Wild Carrot, is just getting off the ground and her organic goodies went down a storm (I can pass on details if you’re interested in an organic wedding cake or dessert table, and she specialises in gluten-free baking too).

Another thank you goes to my dad Pete who created an incredible hand-painted sign for my stand. He’s a painter and artist, so I asked him to knock up a little something for me and he went way beyond what I expected, recreating the floral background of my business card and logo. Thanks Dad!

We approached our stand for the day as we would a wedding or other event, by devising a story to jump start ideas and inspiration. We decided on Gypsy Rose and I wanted to evoke the feel of a seasonal bohemian feast, with moody dark hues mixed with the palest blush with unusual and sensual textures. The style was a relaxed, slightly rustic feel, but with a hint of glamour and real sense of occasion.

Food is central to all celebrations, so Jennie baked some organic sweet treats following the natural, bohemian feel with unique and seasonal flavour combinations including beetroot, dark chocolate, berries, nuts, fig and elderflower. I hope you like our creations and feel inspired to start your own styling story.

Bloom Fleuriste at Fazeley Studios

We’re delighted to be taking part in our first wedding fair in September at fabulous Fazeley Studios in Digbeth, Birmingham. It’s a great city centre wedding venue for couples looking for something a little different and this is Fazeley Studios’ first wedding fair, launched by demand and popularity of its regular open evenings.

We will be exhibiting among a range of other unique wedding suppliers, showcasing our floral design and styling work and giving away some treats, including handmade corsages and yummy baked goodies created by our friend Jenny at Wild Carrot.

We’re also running a very exciting competition to win a bespoke bridal bouquet worth £150. All you need to do to enter, is visit our stand and leave your name, email address and wedding date/venue and we will pick a winner at random the next day to have a luxury hand-tied wedding bouquet on your wedding day. Pretty cool, right?

Bloom Fleuriste for Emma & Nick at Hampton Manor

Back in May we had the pleasure of designing flowers for Emma and Nick who were tying the knot at beautiful Hampton Manor in Hampton-in-Arden, Warwickshire. In addition to flowers with a scheme of fresh white and green, we provided prop hire of our exclusive LOVE lights and firefly lanterns. We’ve just seen the photos, taken by talented duo Hannah and Toby of Red on Blonde and couldn’t wait to share them with you (with a few of our amateur shots thrown in too!)

White hydrangea wedding

When we met with Emma and Nick in January, they had a pretty clear idea for their wedding flowers – a really fresh feel with lots of fluffy white hydrangeas. Emma wanted to keep the bouquets chic and simple with hydrangea only so we sourced the most cloud-like ones we could find, which we hear many of their guests mistook for paper as the petals were so perfect. Flower girl Grace carried a white hydrangea pomander to tie in with Emma and her maids.

Emma and Nick opted for something a little different for the boys’ buttonholes – delicate lily of the valley, which we supported with wax flower to help them hold up in the heat, finished with natural twine stems.

The couple chose the beautiful Birches room to hold their ceremony and we marked the entrance by filling two personalised wooden crates (handmade by their friend) with an abundance of hydrangea, avalanche roses, snapdragons, butterfly thalpsi, eucalyptus and broom. Inside, our stunning LOVE letters took centre stage at the end of the aisle, which we lined with our popular firefly lanterns. These striking props were relocated into the main building later on to add atmosphere throughout the afternoon and evening.

We decorated the ceremony table with a collection of vintage glass vessels and unique vases, including our favourite white swan, and they were enjoyed further in the dining room and bar later on. TIP! Reuse & relocate your flowers wherever possible throughout the day to get the most for your money.

Elegant tall candelabras styled up the tables in the modern dining room (available to hire from us), which we covered in more hydrangea, bombastic roses, chins and broom. We added little floral touches to the cake and guest book tables, and spruced up the table plan with Avalanche roses. We thought it all looked beautiful, but more importantly, so did Emma and Nick, and their guests. Smiles all round!

NEW PRODUCT & GIVEAWAY | Le sac en papier

Posted by Hannah

I’ve had my eye on these great paper bags forever and finally got around to sourcing a bunch last week. If you’re a slave to Pinterest and interior blogs like I am, you may have seen them around the web looking uber cool in monochrome styled rooms. Well I’m pleased to now offer them with Bloom Fleuriste gift bouquets for fabulous two-in-one wrapping and reusable home storage. Who wouldn’t want to receive one of these beauties?

Bloom Fleuriste

We often get asked to do bespoke floral designs for gifts like birdcages, hatboxes and planters, but I wanted to offer a little signature something as well with a modern, eco-friendly vibe that compliments our brand and the French inspired name of Bloom Fleuriste. Enter Le sac en papier.

These paper bags are made in France from 100% recycled Kraft paper. They’re super durable and designed to be reused again and again. I love the simple graphic design (with type in English on one side and French on the other) and practical stylish storage the bags provide around the house.

There’s lots of ways to incorporate them into your wedding too, like:

  • Hold large floral displays
  • Store gifts and cards
  • Store props for a photobooth
  • Wrap gifts for parents, bridesmaids & best man
